Established in 1994, The International Network of Street Papers (INSP) is a global engine to alleviate local and global poverty through social enterprise and communication. Composed of 88 street paper members in 37 countries spanning 6 continents, the Network is a united voice against economic and social exclusion.

Street papers are independent newspapers and magazines that provide unique employment opportunities and enterprising social programmes for people experiencing poverty and homelessness.

Since the end of the 1980s, street papers have provided an immediate solution to an urgent need, enabling poor and homeless people to earn a dignified income and help themselves to rebuild their lives and find a place in society. The street papers are a long-term tool for social transformation that connect people across harmful social barriers and advocate for the needs and rights of people living in poverty. They reach  over 32 million readers worldwide every year.

Since 1994, INSP member street papers have collectively provided opportunities for self-help and self-expression to approximately 250,000 severely disadvantaged people around the world
